Dana Bates has been playing golf for over thirty years, when her father, John Heffernan, introduced her to golf as a youngster. She loved the game to the extent of receiving a golf scholarship to the University of Hawaii, and completed her college education as a member of the golf team at the University of Arizona. While competing on the mini-tour, she tried the LPGA qualifying school three years in a row and nearly missed each time. Dana decided to stay home and raise her daughter Katelynn, joined the LPGA T&CP Division so she could succeed in her other full-time job as a mother. Katelynn is now 19, independent, and Dana has kept her game in prime shape to give the LPGA Qualifing School "one more shot." Wish her luck!
